pickled onions

(This also works for other pickled goods, I just mainly like to pickle onions.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Red Onion/Carrots/Cucumbers (whatever you are pickling)

  • White Vinegar

  • Peppercorns

  • Salt

  • Maple Syrup

  • Dill

  • Red Chili Flakes

  • Lime Juice

How to make it:

  • Finely sliced your red onions and put them in a jar, soak in warm water for five mins.

  • While they’re soaking, boil 1 part white vinegar with 1 part water. Add some lime juice as well.

  • Add peppercorns, salt, and a dash of maple syrup.

  • After your onions are done soaking, drain the water and add your dill to the jar and then pour in the boiling mixture.

  • Store in the fridge and you are ready to go.
