pickled onions
(This also works for other pickled goods, I just mainly like to pickle onions.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Red Onion/Carrots/Cucumbers (whatever you are pickling)
White Vinegar
Peppercorns
Salt
Maple Syrup
Dill
Red Chili Flakes
Lime Juice
How to make it:
Finely sliced your red onions and put them in a jar, soak in warm water for five mins.
While they’re soaking, boil 1 part white vinegar with 1 part water. Add some lime juice as well.
Add peppercorns, salt, and a dash of maple syrup.
After your onions are done soaking, drain the water and add your dill to the jar and then pour in the boiling mixture.
Store in the fridge and you are ready to go.
